Classes cancelled, offices close due to tropical weather conditions

The Citadel continues to monitor weather conditions in the Charleston area. Hurricane Irene is not projected to hit the Charleston area directly, but the track of the storm and its size poses the potential for heavy rain, local flooding and high winds later this afternoon and overnight.

With the exception of this afternoon's women's volleyball tournament, all classes and activities at The Citadel were cancelled beginning at 1 p.m. today. Citadel faculty and staff not essential for emergency response were permitted to leave today at 1 p.m.
